Massage Therapy for Sport Related Injuries
Welcome to Northants Sports Massage. Our clinic is based in Rushden and we can also visit you at your home or place of work. This mobile service is available to clients in Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering and surrounding areas within a 15 mile radius of Northampton.
Athletes and sports people: Therapist Andrew McKenna has worked with many elite athletes who have picked up an injury as a result of their training or competition.
Having a fantastic success rate in terms of helping people to recover from injury and in avoiding injury Andrew can use his skills to get you back to the levels of performance you had prior to injury.
Non Sports Injury
Everyday aches and pains: A number of people Andrew sees are from outside of sport and have injuries that have come about due to their normal daily routine.
These people may be experiencing back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, neck pain or other complaints. Sports massage can still be useful as it directly targets injury sites then uses a variety of superficial and deep techniques along with stretching to break down knots. This allows the muscles to return back to their original state.
Fitness Sessions: Running & Walking
Following successful completion of my 'leadership in running fitness' qualification obtained from England athletics I will be holding group walk/run sessions in Rushden, Wellingborough, and Northampton.
These sessions are suitable for most people whether you are a beginner or regularly compete in walking or running events at an intermediate level. The sessions are designed so that everybody gets a good workout with everybody treated in the same way.
The aim of these sessions is to improve the health and fitness levels of each individual as well as help people to reach their goals which will be discussed occasionally. Benefits of regular exercise include a reduced risk of coronary heart disease, cancer, strokes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and many other things. These sessions are also designed to increase your emotional well-being and confidence, decrease stress, depression, anxiety, help with weight loss, help you to sleep and make you feel energetic.
If you would like to come along to any of the sessions the cost is £10 per session (pay as you go) or you can pay £90 for 10 sessions (£10 saving). All sessions will be led by myself (Andrew McKenna). The dates and times of the sessions are highlighted below, if you wish to come along just turn up and make sure you are wearing suitable clothing such as a tracksuit and trainers, bring along water and if you have any medical complaints make sure you bring along your medical aids.
